Technical issuesĭespite the passage of years, Chrono Trigger still manages to please the eye with its manga-like graphic design, which was supervised by Akira Toriyama (the author of the Dragon Ball saga). In addition, during the struggles we increase the combat potential of the heroes by assigning them weapons, armor and various accessories. During the clashes we use the so-called techniques (performed individually or in groups) and support items in addition to the usual attacks. The developers have used a modified turn-based Active Time Battle system, in which heroes perform their actions after charging a special bar. In contrast to many classic representatives of the genre, including the Final Fantasy series, adversaries are visible during exploration, and after contact with them a fight takes place immediately - dueling parties are not transferred to a special arena. In the course of the game, players explore successive lands (moving between locations on a simplified terrain scheme) and epochs (prehistory, early Middle Ages, Middle Ages, present, apocalypse, future and the end of time), hold dialogues with neutral characters and perform tasks for them, as well as duel with enemies. the action was shown from a camera suspended over Crono's head.
It is worth noting that the story told in the game has a non-linear character and can end in several ways depending on our actions. During his travels through space-time he visits different epochs, where he meets new companions, tries to prevent time paradoxes and faces cunning enemies. Our hero goes in search of her, which completely changes his so far peaceful life.
